Training on the Queenstown program will take place initially at Coronet Peak. Successful interns will then be chosen to work at either Remarkables or Coronet Peak during the Australasian School holidays. Your season pass will give you full access to both mountains in Queenstown.

The internship program offered in Queenstown is an Ultimate Plus Internship and includes Level 1 training and Level 1 exam costs as well as level 2 specific training. Level 2 exam costs are not included, as this requires a pass on the level 1 to qualify. The level 2 NZSIA exam is a step up but with the practical teaching experience you gain through the internship you will be at an advantage over others if this is your goal.

Training Program

We have two program options, available in both ski and snowboard for Queenstown. Training for both programs initially takes place at Coronet Peak and you will have access to both ski areas on your days off. Our 5 week program focuses around successfully completing the level 1 exam, and the 10 week program offers additional training towards the level 2, plus other supplementary courses such as first aid and avalanche safety courses.

Later in the winter there is the opportunity to explore New Zealand and experience all this amazing country has to offer!

Living & WORKING in Queenstown

Queenstown is epic. The drinks are cheap and there are hundreds of backpackers year round to meet and explore the region with. Many people travel here for a week or two and wind up staying for years. It’s a welcoming, friendly place that you can't help falling in love with!

Everything is within walking distance in town – the supermarket, bars with their NZ$5 pints & $10 meals. An abundance of public walkways, cycle-ways and tracks to explore. The town buzzes in the daytime with tourists, and goes off at night with a huge number of bars and music venues. To rest your weary legs, sit by an open fire and recap the powder days!

Why should you choose Queenstown?

Working in Queenstown will not only get you world-class NZSIA qualifications, but also access to all the other epic activities that the region has to offer…. Bungy jumping, Jet boating, Rafting, Downhill mountain biking, Rock climbing… the list goes on. Tack on a trip home via Thailand or Australia to experience their beaches, and you have yourself the adventure of a lifetime!
