2010 Winter Olympic hosts and access to Vancouver nightlife.
Cypress is one of the few resorts in the world where you can combine top skiing/riding with the luxuries of city living with quick access to Canada’s most vibrant and friendly Big City. On a day off you can climb out of bed after a night in downtown Vancouver, then be shredding after a 30 minute bus ride! There is also night skiing with most runs open runs until 10pm every night.
Cypress was host to the 2010 Winter Olympics and Canada’s first gold medal on home soil. Over the past few years there has been huge investment in Lodges and services for Cypress Mountain which is now set up with world class Olympic runs and facilities.
EA and Cypress Ski & Snowboard School are stoked to provide a unique opportunity for you to become an instructor at this World Class Ski Resort. Cypress may average 35 feet of pow in a season but it’s location right beside Vancouver also provides stunning views overlooking Vancouver Bay and all the islands out to sea.

LIVING & WORKING IN CYPRESS & VANCOUVER
New instructors at Cypress typically start working in the kids ski school. This generally also provides more regular lessons. Cypress is located a short 25 minute drive from North Vancouver.
Although you could spend more than a year exploring the inns and outs of Vancouver EA will make sure you are dialed in with local scene and quickly become familiar with popular hot spots. People often ask how much it costs to buy food and drink so here’s our shopping list run down:
- $5 pizza slice at over 10 places less than 2 minutes from your accommodation!
- A cold pint of Molson Canadian at Doolins Irish pub for $6 (live music most nights)
- 20 sushi pieces and Miso soup for CA$8
- pasta dinner for two from food market $4.50 each.
Cypress Resort is renowned for fantastic internal training. After your level one and initial period of work over the holidays you can expect additional training opportunities to work towards your level two, or dual discipline.
EA INTERN BLOGS FROM CYPRESS

“Needless to say, teaching is an absolute blast! Children and adults, Vancouverites and visitors, girls and boys, we get the chance to teach them all and see the specific differences in how to teach them all.”
