"Somewhere in there 'doing a season' quietly turned into a career, and I honestly couldn't tell you the exact moment it happened. Hakuba: Rice Paddies and Powder
Looking for something a bit more authentic? Hakuba's 11 resorts sit in a valley of rice paddies and small farms, with backcountry lines that are next level. It is rural, it is rugged, and it is home to some of the most iconic alpine terrain in Japan. More clear sky days than almost anywhere else in the country, and a distinct lack of chain stores.
